Climbing gyms in the Wilder Kaiser region

Impressive walls indoors too

The Wilder Kaiser region, which extends around the four Kaiser villages of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll, is one of the most prominent climbing destinations in Austria.

Climbing has history here! Famous alpine names such as Totenkirchl, Predigtstuhl or Fleischbank inspire awe and sporting ambition in alpinists. But it's not just experienced climbers who get their money's worth in the Wilder Kaiser - varied sport climbing routes, multi-pitch tours, via ferratas and climbing gyms offer a wide range of opportunities for climbing enthusiasts of all abilities. And with a little imagination, you can even make out the profile of Emperor Charlemagne on the rock face between Treffauer Haltspitze and Ellmauer Haltspitze - the region owes its name to him!
