One of the most difficult and longest icefalls in this area. A serious undertaking which requires good experience on ice.

One of the hardest and longest icefalls in this area. Serious undertaking which requires good experience on the ice.

Located directly on the Seebenwände. Where the sport climbing routes and the via ferrata lead upwards in summer, there is a mighty icefall in winter. This icefall can be seen from afar from the Ehrwalder Alm ski area. It is as menacing and serious as it looks. Only recommended for experts. Due to the snow, the ascent takes longer in winter than in summer.

Climb up to the first belay via the not difficult stem. Start of the difficulties. Mostly through rough ice, under overhangs and ice mushrooms up to the next belay. Then, keeping to the right, a little easier further up. Exit the last pitch to the right. The variation is again very difficult over overhangs and tubular ice directly to the top. Abseil over the icefall or descend via the via ferrata.
