Racy, steep and demanding. Attributes that are particularly noticeable in the airy "Bergführer-Quergang" of the "Leoganger Süd". This via ferrata is one of the most difficult of its kind in the region. In the already mentioned "Bergführer-Quergang" you will need a hearty and strong effort. Here short expresses should not be missing. The ascent can be described as very exposed and very long. The descent via the "Leoganger Nord" via ferrata rounds off this extreme south-north crossing of the western Mitterspitze in a fitting manner.

Access
From the Passauer Hütte (2,051 m) on the path, descend in about 15 minutes under the Fahnenköpfl west face to the so-called Hochtor. Here follow the marked path for a few minutes below the south face of the Fahnenköpfl to the entrance.
