Steinbocksteig: The right "Steinbock"-route is the one for experts. The greyish and reddish rock plates are all natural without any footholds. Its modernly built fun route is perfectly integrated in splendid rock formations and mostly goes up vertically in elegant zigzag ways. The maximum level of difficulty is D+ on a scale from A to E. (330m length)

Access
From there you walk to the Gletscherstube and then follow the old trail towards the Braunschweiger Hut until the marked turning to the via verratas (on the left side of the trail). Approx. 1 h
Descent
You reach the starting point of the via ferrata in 20 minutes via the hiking path.
Public transport
Take the bus till the bus stop Mittelberg Wendestelle.
Journey
By car: Exit the motorway A12 at "IMST - Pitztal" or if you are coming from the Fernpass then look for the direction Pitztal at Imst. Drive into the Pitztal until the valley head at Mittelberg (Municipality of St. Leonhard). There you can find a parking area for mountaineers on the left-hand side. The access by car to the Gletscherstube is strictly forbidden!
