Murmeltiersteig: The "Murmeltier"-variant becomes progressively more challenging and rewards you with climbing over granite. Where necessary, footholds are provided. However, you still get a lot of direct contact with the rock. This route is perfectly suitable for children from 10 years (perhaps with additional securing). Maximum level of difficulty is C on a scale from A to E. (330m length)

Access
From there you walk to the Gletscherstube and then follow the old trail towards the Braunschweiger Hut until the marked turning to the via verratas (on the left side of the trail). Approx. 1 h
Descent
You reach the starting point of the via ferrata in 20 minutes via the hiking path.
Public transport
Take the bus till the bus stop Mittelberg Wendestelle.
Journey
Exit the motorway A12 at "IMST - Pitztal" or if you are coming from the Fernpass then look for the direction Pitztal at Imst. Drive into the Pitztal until the valley head at Mittelberg (Municipality of St. Leonhard). There you can find a parking area for mountaineers on the left-hand side. The access by car to the Gletscherstube is strictly forbidden!
