Via ferratas in Paznaun
Outdoor experiences in the primary rock
If you want to climb or boulder, you are spoiled for choice in the Paznaun Valley. High above Galtür, at 2,000 m, is the Silvapark - one of the best bouldering areas in Tyrol. Especially in the summer months, when it is very hot in many places, the (climbing) temperatures here are pleasant. Bernd Zangerl, the "bouldering pope" of Tyrol, opened the first bouldering routes here and established the most difficult boulder in Tyrol with Anam Cara 8C. There are now around 175 routes in all grades, as well as Austria's first children's bouldering area.
But that's not all: several via ferratas, including one especially for families, a bouldering wall in the Alpinarium and 2 climbing arenas in the vicinity of the Jamtaler and Heidelberger Hütte complete the climbing offer in Paznaun.
A true paradise for alpinists, climbing freaks and those who want to become one!
4 high alpine via ferratas for experts and beginners in Paznaun
- Little Ballun family via ferrata
The name says it all: the youngest via ferrata in Galtür is an experience for mountain fans of all ages. The via ferrata is well secured and the level of difficulty is between A and B. Thanks to these conditions, children (from the age of 8) can also gain their first experience on the rocks here. Concentration, coordination and strength are trained. From the start to the finish at an altitude of 2,165 m, there is a 100 m difference in altitude to overcome, and you are rewarded with a view of Galtür and the peaks of the Silvretta and Verwall groups. - Flimspitz via ferrata
The 2,929 m high Flimspitz is the highest peak around Ischgl. The rocky, exposed summit offers an overwhelming panoramic view far into the Swiss and Italian Alps. Thanks to this new via ferrata, which is also quite easy with difficulty level A, the popular summit is now even easier to reach. It takes around 25 minutes to cover 120 meters in altitude. Experienced via ferrata climbers can also combine this route with the Greitspitze via ferrata. - Greitspitz via ferrata
Short, exposed, steep and yet suitable for agile children and less experienced climbers. The level of difficulty on the Greitspitz via ferrata is mainly in the B range, some short sections are more difficult and range from C to C/D, but can be bypassed by alternative passages. The reward is the view from the summit at 2,850 m. Experienced via ferrata climbers can combine this route with the Flimspitz via ferrata. - Via ferrata Silvapark - Galtür
A promising challenge for alpinists looking for something special. The primary rock via ferrata is mainly at difficulty level B/C and at two points at level C/D. The route leads up to the summit through the impressive north face - with breathtaking views of the Silvretta glacier world and the Rätikon. Well secured, the Silvapark via ferrata is a unique mountain experience - also for children and young people aged 12 and over.
