The children's via ferrata in the Zillertal is specially designed for families with children aged 6 and older, offering a mix of traditional via ferrata terrain and elements from high ropes courses. The ropes and footholds are accordingly mounted to make climbing easier for children.

However, the via ferrata should not be underestimated. Smaller and lighter children should additionally be secured with a rope.

Access
If you follow the hiking trail (Path No. 2c) from the Gasthof Zillertal towards Zimmereben, you will reach a small platform with an information board and a wooden bench after just 5 minutes. Here, you will find the entrance to the "Huterlaner" via ferrata and the children's via ferrata. Both routes ascend together over the first rock step. After a few minutes, the via ferratas split, and you will follow the blue footholds.
🛬
Descent
The descent follows the hiking trail, passing by the wildlife enclosure, with steep steps and switchbacks down to the starting point. Alternatively, a gentler hiking trail leads south towards the village of Kreuzlau and along the Ziller River back to the starting point. This route is easier to navigate.

Please do not descend via the via ferrata!
