5 climbing garden tips at Achensee for every requirement

  • Bärenkopf climbing garden: Small but very fine and brand-new climbing area above the Lärchenwiese in Maurach. The tours are of moderate difficulty, so that even less experienced climbers will get their money's worth.
  • Grauwand: Beautifully situated climbing garden below the Rofan cable car. The 35 routes all lead over the best limestone rock and are up to 25 m high. The south-facing aspect means that climbing is possible all year round.
  • Just next to the path to the Rofanspitze is the 15-metre-high flat Grubastiege. The rock is littered with water grooves and sharp Bierhenkel holds and offers seven routes of fairly moderate difficulty. The nearby, water-eaten Grubaplatte is also recommended for children and beginners with 8 sport climbing routes in difficulty levels 2 to 6b.
