Rotspitz
This reddish coloured mountain is one of the most popular climbing spots in the Rofan mountains. Grade levels are rather moderate but quite steep considering the difficulty levels. The rock quality is good, even if it sometimes doesn't look like it. Rock quality: horizontally layered limestone.

Journey
Take the regional bus or car to the Rofan cable car in Maurach, ride up with the gondola. From the top station of the Rofan cable car, walk down the ski slope. At the small lake, follow the path in a westerly direction towards Rotspitz. Finally, make your way up the steep switchbacks to the south face or to the right to access the east and north face. 45 minutes from the top station.

The best starting point is the top station of the Rofan cable car. From here, follow the path towards the Dalfaz Alm in a westerly direction to the Rotspitz, which is already visible. Access
The best starting point is the top station of the Rofan cable car. From here, follow the path towards the Dalfaz Alm in a westerly direction to the Rotspitz, which is already visible. Finally, the trail climbs by way of switchbacks to the foot of the wall. At the foot of the wall, follow the path as is descends to the right to the routes on the east face.

Descend the easy grassy flank diagonally to the right between the Rotspitz secondary summit and the main summit and follow the normal route back to the entry point.
