Fantastic views, a pleasantly cool climate on hot summer days, the largest lake in Tyrol and some of the best climbing areas in the province await.

4 multi-pitch tips on Achensee

  • Gramai climbing area: Well-secured routes, but with an alpine character. The descent is mostly by abseiling with a 55 m double rope. Appropriate behavior above the climbing routes should be considered due to the wild animals!
  • Lamsenspitze: Although some of the routes on the Lamsenspitze have been renovated, you must always carry additional safety equipment. The Dreamland climbing garden is located below the routes.
  • Klobenjoch: Climbers can expect a large selection of routes of almost all levels of difficulty here. The trademark of the Klobenjoch, however, are the long routes in grades 6 and 7 (French) and the new difficult sport climbing routes in the Eiskeller area.
  • Rotspitz: This reddish-colored cornerstone is one of the most popular climbing mountains in the Rofan. The rock, horizontally layered limestone, is very reminiscent of the Dolomites. Although the routes are very steep, the level of difficulty is rather moderate. The routes are up to 4 pitches long.
