Achensee - Tyrol's Sport and Vitality Park
Between mountain and lake, from alpine classics to modern climbing routes.
In the Rofan Mountains, high above Achensee, some of the best climbing areas in Tyrol have been created in recent years. The area is fantastically beautiful and leaves impressions far beyond climbing. The pleasant coolness on hot summer days attracts many climbers from the valley to this region between mountain and lake. The perfect limestone around Achensee is sometimes reminiscent of climbing that is usually found in the south of France.
You can climb to your heart's content here: on single to multi-pitch routes from 3rd to 8th degree of difficulty (French scale), via ferratas in all their facets, climbing gardens and indoor bouldering in the Atoll Achensee. In recent years in particular, a number of new certified climbing gardens have been built, which are particularly suitable for families with children.
The majestic peaks of the Karwendel mountains in Tyrol with their endless cirques and walls are very popular and appreciated by climbers and hikers. The area around the Lamsenjochhütte is an alpine climbing area with walls up to 400 m high. Here you will find alpine routes alongside modern alpine sport climbing routes. Fantastic rock paired with an alpine ambience will make your climbing heart beat faster here in Tyrol.
But you can also let off steam in the valley: The bouldering hall at Atoll Achensee in Maurach offers 180 m2 of climbing space and countless opportunities to try out new moves or simply spend a relaxed day with your climbing buddies.
Would you like to get a taste of climbing and make your first attempts on the rocks? Or hone your climbing technique for your next project? At the regular climbing and via ferrata camps at Achensee, you will be professionally taught the necessary know-how by experienced mountain guides
