Beginner and refresher courses for multi-pitch climbing
If you have never climbed multi-pitch routes before or would like to improve your technique, our mountain sports schools naturally also offer multi-pitch courses. The program includes how to belay correctly at the belay station, the different commands for climbing and multi-pitch tours and the use of wedges and slings. It's best to register today!

Communication on multi-pitch tours
As you are far away from each other when climbing, short and concise commands must be sufficient to communicate with each other:
- Lead climber calls out: "Belay!" After he has belayed himself at the belay.
- The second climber calls out: "Rope in!" After taking the lead climber off the belay.
- Lead climber calls out: "Come in!" After inserting the second climber's rope into the belay and tightening the rope.
- The second climber calls out: "I'm coming!" After he has unclipped his own belay.
The 3 most popular multi-pitch tours in Climbers Paradise Tirol
- Nassereith Tiefthal: Several east-facing, well-secured routes that are alpine in character and therefore not recommended for pure sport climbers. The descent is only possible by abseiling (70 m single rope or 2 twin ropes required!) on the respective route.
- Geierwand in Haiming: There are 20 south-facing multi-pitch routes here.
- Gramai am Achensee: 12 well-secured routes with alpine character can be found in Gramai am Achensee. The exposure is south/southeast. The descent is mostly by abseiling with 55 m double ropes.
