You don't just want to laze around by the lake or in the outdoor pool in summer temperatures? Then the following 5 climbing areas are just right for spending hot days on the rock!
Fromthe west of Tyrol to the east, there is something for everyone. All areas have a short approach, are (partially) family-friendly and some even offer cooling facilities or barbecue areas. This means that extended climbing days are also possible.
Fernergries
Combine climbing and via ferrata? Nowhere else can you do this as well as in the beautiful Kaunertal. Situated at an altitude of almost 2,000 m in the most beautiful landscape, the Fernergries climbing garden with its massive granite slabs is waiting to be climbed.
The climbing garden is ideal for children and beginners thanks to its many easy tours. If you still haven't had enough of climbing in the climbing garden, you can also tack on the "Holderli Seppl" via ferrata.
The only drawback is the 25 euro toll fee that you have to pay when traveling on the Kaunertal Glacier Road. But once you've immersed yourself in the beautiful landscape up there, it's easy to overlook!
Mötz
The almost brand-new Mötz climbing garden is still an absolute insider tip for hot summer days! The climbing garden is located in the shady forest and offers well-equipped routes in the lower levels of difficulty up to 6c+. The beautiful forest with its shady trees is ideal for families and beginners. And if you're looking to cool off afterwards, the idyllic Mieminger Badesee is just a five-minute drive away. It is also accessible free of charge from 7 pm.
Flämenwandl
On the beautiful Seefeld plateau is the so-called Flämenwandl, which is wrongly overshadowed by the Great Wall of China! Its short approach, barbecue areas and benches right by the stream make this climbing garden a real highlight! The routes range from 3a to 6b+ and are in the shade for most of the day. And if you're still too warm, you can refresh yourself in the stream next to the chilled beer.

Ehnbach Gorge
The beautiful Ehnbachklamm gorge near Innsbruck is perfect for hot summer days thanks to its beautiful large stream bed and shady trees! Beautiful slabs and steep routes in the "Buchenwald" sector await you here. There is shade on the Buchenwandl until around 2 pm, before the sun slowly comes around the corner.

Wiesensee
Having a climbing garden and a Kneipp facility next to each other is probably wishful thinking. But not in the Steinberge region, which combines these two things at the Wiesensee climbing garden.
In addition to the many family-friendly routes in the lower difficulty range, there is also a Kneipp facility right next to the climbing garden! This is highly recommended for cooling off and relaxing aching toes after a long day of climbing!
