Five icefalls, five routes - now that we've given you a taste of popular ice climbing areas in Tyrol, we're getting a little more specific and introducing you to five popular routes for ice climbing in Climbers Paradise:
1. Easy Afternoon
The Easy Afternoon ice climbing route is located in the Sellraintal ice climbing Eldorado near Innsbruck. With a difficulty level of WI4, it is not quite as "easy" as its name suggests. But with an ascent of just 30 minutes from Gasthaus Lüsens, it is at least easy to reach. The 80-metre-long icefall is located at 1700 meters and offers pure ice climbing.

2nd Sautrog icefall
The Sautrog icefall is also located in the Sellraintal valley near Innsbruck. At 160 meters long and narrow, it presents itself in winter with the finest ice. After just a 20-minute walk, ice climbers can get started at the fall, which is located at an altitude of 1300 meters. The Sautrog icefall is quite easy to climb and is therefore particularly suitable for beginners who have mastered the WI3 level of difficulty.
Please note: Be particularly careful of avalanches in this area!

With a difficulty level of WI2-3, the Seigesbach-Fall in the Sellraintal valley is also ideal for ice climbing beginners, especially for those who don't have much time. Just a five-minute walk and you are right in front of the fairly wide icefall. It is only 30 meters high, but offers the best climbing fun.
Note: When ice climbing at the Seigesbach Falls, it is important to pay attention to the backwash.
