More than 1000 sport climbing routes, an almost infinite number of alpine multi-pitch routes including the 45-pitch route "Pinzgawurm" and exciting via ferratas for the whole family - the Steinberge region is truly a climber's paradise. What's more, the Pillersee offers everything you need for relaxed days of swimming and summer fun.
Stillno plan for where to go on your summer vacation this year? But keen on swimming, biking, climbing and feasting? The Steinberge mountain sports region has the perfect answer for all wishes, a microcosm with a macro mountain sports offer. First and foremost: the seven-kilometre-long and 250-metre-high Waidringer Steinplatte, visible from afar from the valley. The former coral reef is a classic with a worldwide reputation, not least because of its exceptionally good rock quality. The Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge mountains are also vying to be explored. In addition to the challenging 45-pitch route "Pinzgawurm" - named after the frequent patches of fog here that run like a worm from the Saalfelden basin to Tyrol - there are also countless mountain and climbing experiences for the whole family. And after the mountain, there's a swim. A dip in the Pillersee, then a quick trip to the farmer around the corner for fresh eggs, bacon and cheese and nothing stands in the way of a fantastic dinner. The energy stores need to be replenished for the many new experiences, be it in the bike park, stand-up paddling or climbing ...
Waidringer Steinplatte - a whole coral reef for climbing
Whether sport climbing, plaisir or alpine climbing - the Steinplatte offers the right tour for everyone in climbing gardens with some crisp and difficult routes to beautiful plaisir routes on the up to 250 meter high wall. The former coral reef is now considered one of the best limestone climbing areas in Tyrol. And the view from the 250-metre-high rock face is simply breathtaking.

Steinberge mountain sports region: Family. Quality. Mountain. Time.
Thanks to the cooperation between the three regions of Saalfelden Leogang, Pillerseetal and Salzburger Saalachtal, climbing fans of all ages have more than 1000 options at their disposal - all within a maximum radius of 25 minutes by car. If you prefer, you can leave the car behind and set off on an e-bike - it's much nicer anyway, as you can soak up the scent of the meadows and experience the landscape much more intensely. The Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge offer fantastic mountain experiences, guided or individually planned. Many climbing areas are ideal for anyone who wants to switch from the gym to the rock or improve their lead climbing skills - with as little fear as possible. Ideally suited for this: the Wiesensee climbing garden!

After-climb and culinary delights
You have a good chance of meeting local climbing aficionados at the "Adolariwirt". All those who are tempted to head straight into the water after climbing can enjoy an Aperol or Almdudler at Pillersee in their swimwear. The "Wiesenseehof" on Lake Wiesensee is a good place for coffee, cake and dumplings. If you're out and about in the Saalfelden-Leogang region, you might pass the Passauer Hütte after your alpine tour - make sure you stop for a bite to eat. If you like cool sounds and hip drinks and guests, stop off at "Mama Thresl".
You can find the current opening times of all restaurants in the region here.
Everything - except climbing
Shortened muscles? Not with a round of SUP yoga on the Pillersee. Not easy, but very effective. The asanas on the SUP board strengthen your core, train your balance and make your muscles supple. The ducks watch with amusement and comment on the exercises.
Thrills on two wheels can be experienced in "The Epic Bikepark Leogang" - a nice balance to climbing rest days and a completely different kind of thrill. A day spa stay at the Naturhotel Forsthofgut promises complete relaxation at the highest level. The WaldSpa with herbal and steam baths, outdoor and indoor pools and many saunas is an "Adults Only" area - a wonderful hideaway to recharge your batteries.
Stay overnight
There is a wealth of accommodation in the Steinberge mountain sports region - from 5-star wellness hotels to vacation apartments. We particularly recommend the traditional "Adolariwirt" inn and climbers' meeting point south of Waidring in the direction of St. Ulrich am Pillersee. Of course, there are also great campsites on site for a completely self-determined outdoor vacation.
