ROCKdays 2018 will take place from June 1 to 3 in Pillerseetal in the Steinberge mountain sports region - a climbing festival for every climbing enthusiast. We'll show you what to expect and why it's worth making a note of this date in your diary.
Kickoff of the ROCKdays
The ROCKdays start with the kickoff on Friday, June 1, at Gasthof Adolari in St. Ulrich am Pillersee. Depending on the weather, the party will start outside with a campfire or inside in a cozy cowshed. Adi Stocker, first ascender of more than 60 routes, will be there. On this evening, he will provide insights into a new climbing guidebook, which is expected to be available from August.
Free workshops
Free workshops will then take place on Saturday, June 2: Mountain guides and experts will be offering climbing, canyoning and SUP workshops. If you want, you can even try stand-up paddling and slacklining. Meanwhile, children can get their money's worth climbing at Halsergrund.

ROCKdesaster speed climbing competition
A highlight of ROCKdays is the ROCKdesaster speed climbing competition, which takes place on Saturday, June 2. International climbing stars will be competing for the title of Miss or Master of Disaster. As in previous years, they will have to climb the 15-metre-high wall hanging over the trout pond side by side as quickly as possible. The level of difficulty is between 6+ and 7-. The finale of this cold water soloing competition takes place in the evening and is accompanied by pyrotechnics and music.
Party with live band
After the ROCKdesaster, all climbing fans cancelebrate together with music from the band "Ruff Stuff" at the Forellenranch.
Guided via ferrata and multi-pitch tours
To round off the ROCKdays, the guided tours start from the mountain station of the Waidring-Steinplatte cable car on Sunday, June 3. Participants can choose whether they prefer to tackle the via ferrata on the Schustergangl or climb multi-pitch routes. Participants have the option of borrowing via ferrata equipment such as a via ferrata set, climbing gloves and a climbing helmet.
