There are few things better than a climbing trip with children in November: when the air is cool and the sky is clear, allowing your breath to rise up in thick clouds of smoke. When hands need to be rubbed warm before climbing and climbing shoes need to be warmed up under a thick jacket. On such days, it can happen that you enjoy entire sectors to yourself. The silence then literally screams at us to be quiet and enjoy this unique moment to the full. After the summer, nature radiates complete tranquillity, almost as if it is leaning back contentedly and waiting for the onset of winter. Climbing outside at this time of year is something very special, and if the kids don't shy away from cool temperatures, it's a wonderful family treat - red cheeks and a natural bedtime buzz are free on top.
Climbing with children in the fall
We have picked out three climbing areas for you from the Climbers Paradise range that you already enjoyed in the summer and that are also attractive in the fall. And if it gets too chilly for the kids after a few hours in November, we've added a tip for each area: whether it's roasting bread or sausages over a crackling fire, sipping hot chocolate in a rustic hut or splashing the cold out of your bones in an adventure pool.
Seefeld

In the Olympiaregion Seefeld, the Flämenwandl beckons. Admittedly, with its northern exposure, the wall is only for tough climbers, but the gravel bank of the Leutascher Ache right next door is perfect for making a fire. Well? The orientation isn't so bad now, is it? Another advantage: the "Puitbach" climbing park is just a 5-minute walk from the climbing crag. If it gets too cold, you can quickly reach the car and heater.
The Flämenwandl family climbing area has a total of 23 routes ranging in difficulty from 3 to 7+ and offers great opportunities for climbing with children on a November day. In between and to warm up, you can play fun running games with the kids on the path directly by the wall. You can then continue the game on the wall with the "Ene mene Mu" route ...
And when it gets chilly, perhaps you can light a fire again, as you did in summer, because barbecues are not just a summer treat. Especially now in late fall, the blazing flame warms your hands and face. The wood cracks and crackles and the sparks fly. We think: The perfect time of year to cook stick bread or sausages over the fire and relive your summer memories.

One last sniff of alpine air, experience the mountains up close before Mother Hulda covers them with her thick white coat of snow, ideally with moderate walking times and a hut that is still open in November.
The Rofanbahn at Achensee makes all of this possible up to and including November 4. As a special treat, there are 4 areas available for climbing with children. So if you're a climber but have morning grouches at home: It's worth getting up early for climbing with children, as there are 4 crags to conquer in one day. Possible, for example: Climb from the mountain station to the east-facing Grubaplatte in 30 minutes. Captain Hook (5c), Batman (5a) and "Wilde Kerle" (5c) are already waiting here for the wild climbing boys and girls.

The sun warms their backs and the jackdaws hope for a little fall snack. From here, we slowly make our way back towards the mountain station. But before that, there is the "Mike Extreme" at the "Platzl", a 3a to take home, or if that is too easy, a crisp 6b is waiting to be climbed with the "Direkte". If you still haven't had enough, take the Grubastiege climbing area with you on the way back. The "Mauritzalm" awaits for a final climb, e.g. with the 5-meter "Popeye" tour, if the Popeye eleven are getting tired: The Erfurter Hütte, which is conveniently located right next to the Rofanbahn mountain station, offers hot chocolate and hut flair.
Ötztal

Would the whole family like to get their money's worth climbing? The Oberried climbing area in Ötztal offers 142 routes spread over 9 sectors. In the "Turkish Honey" sector, for example, you will find the "Hobbit" route, a 3a that will make little climbing fans beam with joy. With the 7c route "Scheintot", the slightly older climbing enthusiasts also have a worthwhile destination for the day. In between? There are many more rewarding routes waiting for you, and once the sector has been explored, there are 8 more waiting to be conquered. The Oberried climbing area certainly offers everything families need for a well-balanced day of climbing with children. The rock faces east, so warm jackets and thermos flasks of hot tea for the shady afternoon hours are certainly not a bad idea. Otherwise, you can simply "warm up" at the nearby playground, romp across the meadows and cheer on mom and dad on their climbing tours.
And when, despite all the bouldering around the children's tower, swinging and rock climbing, the cold starts to get to your bones, it's time to leave. But no, not home, but to the "Aqua Dome", which is conveniently located right in Längenfeld.

Here, the cold is quickly forgotten on the slides in the children's paradise "Alpen Arche Noah". "Off the slide, potato pancakes" is the motto. And for the adults: Either watch the children having fun in the water in the Alpen Arche, or soften up those hard-climbing muscles in the sauna area ....
