On Sunday, we explored the area around the Muttekopfhütte. First we took the rustic chairlift 2 sections up to the Vorderen Alpjoch. We hiked via the Drischlsteig to the Muttekopfhütte and from there through the Engelkar to the east face.
Continuing along serpentines along the gravel road, we reached the striking "hill". We opted for the somewhat more sheltered and quieter east side, with the "Engelspfeiler - pilastro d'angelo" route. The start of the Engelspfeiler is well marked.
At first glance, the tour seemed a little brittle. However, it later proved to be the opposite and turned out to be a wonderful plaisir tour with fantastic views.
The "ENGELSPFEILER" route consists of 5 pitches. This tour was rated 5+. A plaisir route with a somewhat alpine character. The height is 180 m.
Once we reached the summit cross, we enjoyed an incredible view in the direction of Tschirgant. Then we headed back down via the abseil piste.
We were equipped with a 50 m rope and 9 quickdraws as well as slings and, of course, a helmet.
The abseiling slope is well marked with yellow dots for orientation and divided into 6 x 25 meters. It is almost impossible to miss.
The descent was again via the gravel route towards the Muttekopfhütte. After a refreshment stop, we walked back to the parking lot of the Hoch-Imst cable car for about 2 hours. If we had started earlier, we would have tried out the Alpine Coaster.
But unfortunately we missed the last lift - it was probably the beer that was to blame again.
