In Kufsteinerland near Morsbach Summer, sun, sunshine
Sunday, 9 a.m., sunshine and already over 20 degrees outside. Actually perfect weather for swimming, but on the other hand we wanted to catch up on the meters of climbing we missed last week at work. After a quick browse through the Climbers Paradise app, we came across Morsbach. With 44 routes from 2 to 8c, there should be something for everyone. It's in the shade from early afternoon, so it's perfect for a hot summer's day like today. We parked at one of the Pfrillsee parking lots, so nothing stands in the way of a dip in the cool water. What more could a climber's heart want?
Welcome to Kufsteinerland ...
... Welcome to the 16th and therefore youngest climbing region in Climbers Paradise Tirol. As of this year, 127 sport climbing gardens with a total of 337 and almost 5,100 climbing routes with the corresponding topos can be found on our platform. Kufsteinerland also has one of the most historic climbing gardens in Tirol, Morsbach. People were already climbing here in the 1920s and over the years a training ground for the Austrian army was built here. In 1989, things got really difficult and "Guana" was probably one of the most difficult tours in the world at the time. First ascented by Gerhard Hörhager and with few repetitions to this day, probably something to grit your teeth on for every 8c climber. Equipped with benches, it is now one of the most popular climbing gardens in our country, so it can happen that you have to queue for one or two classics.
Finally, there's the cool water!
The choice of which lake to head for is up to you. On the road up to the Thiersee and therefore on the road to the climbing area, you can choose between the Hechtsee, the Längsee or the Pfrillsee, which is only a 15-minute walk from the climbing garden.
So the hot days of this summer can come, we now know where to go to cool our limbs.
We wish you lots of fun on your next climbing and swimming day.
Your Patrick
