Lockdown Part II - be a rock hero!

Corona has already cost us a lot of energy, and we have to fight through it again! We're in the middle of the second lockdown!

But it doesn't have to feel that hard, you just have to make the most of the time: Here are a few suggestions for at home to help us get through this time:

1. home training

Of course, we all bought a fingerboard during the first lockdown and used it diligently. In the meantime, it's probably lying in a corner gathering dust along with our other good intentions. So it's time for a finger board and training revival. You can find important tips on how to train properly here. And our six-pack will soon be back when we reactivate our sagging abdominal muscles.

2. train your basic endurance

Have you always wanted to work on your basic endurance anyway? As you know, training your basic endurance has enormous positive effects on your climbing performance. For example, you recover faster after intensive exertion and lactate can be removed more effectively. And, and, and.

But since all beginnings are difficult, now is exactly the right time to get started, because it takes a while to build up a good base. Now that you no longer have to choose between the gym and running, your motivation is probably much greater.

3. shift focus

Working on weaknesses is simply no fun. But it has to be. So: get out the yoga mat and stretch more again. Get the Theraband and do your balancing exercises, etc. There's bound to be something to do!

4. recovery

Just do nothing at all!
You probably haven't given your body a break since the last lockdown. Then simply do nothing this month except recover. No fingerboard, no pull-up, no stress. The body needs several weeks a year in which it can fully recover. Maybe now is the right time for it.

5. be a rock hero

We've saved the best for last: we're still allowed on the rocks! But not just at the weekend, you can also become a rock warrior during the week. Of course, it's a bit more difficult after work because of the early nightfall. But the solution is in the nearest DIY store: get a mini spotlight, pack your flashlights and dress warmly! There's nothing standing in the way of a night session until 8 p.m. at the latest! Tip: This is easy to do when bouldering AND it's really fun!
