If you love granite, you should definitely come to Niederthai in Ötztal. After a short ascent, you reach the many boulders, which are surrounded by a beautiful larch forest. You can climb here from spring to fall. The levels of difficulty vary from grade 5 to 8. However, the most rewarding routes tend to be in the upper difficulty segment.
The route: Le Miracle

Le Miracle (7B) in the Minas Tirith and Glatteis sector was opened up by Matthias Burtscher in 1993 and is almost a must-do route when visiting Niederthai. With the right technique, you can gain a lot on this tour. The start is very demanding with a few pumpy moves on ledges after a stand-up. After a good resting position, the key section of the route awaits. Here it is important to take a good look beforehand at which hand has to enter the crack at which point. Once you have conquered this section, the wider crack awaits you.
climbers. With plenty of stamina and measured strength, the crack is now pure climbing enjoyment.
What does it require?
A great love of crack climbing, technique and maximum strength
What do the pros say?
Michaela Harnisch: "When you stand under the block, the striking crack immediately catches your eye and you just think to yourself: I have to climb this line."
