Great Lines in Climbers Paradise, Part 3

3rd climbing garden Schleierwasserfall - Number One

What happens when 6 climbing pros sit down at a table to choose the 5 most beautiful lines in Climbers Paradise Tirol? They laughed a lot, talked shop, exchanged fond memories and finally the pros came to an agreement. We present the 5 selected routes in our Great Lines series.

Who chose the Great Lines?

6 top climbers really went all out: Barbara Bacher, Kilian Fischhuber, Michaela Harnisch, Michael Meisl, Markus Schwaiger and Barbara Zangerl have put together a hit list.

From the Great Wall of China and the Dolomite Hut, the route leads directly to the Wilder Kaiser vacation region and the Schleier Waterfall. The Schleier Waterfall is certainly one of the largest and most beautiful climbing areas in Climbers Paradise Tirol. Climbers who have mastered the 8th degree of difficulty can enjoy the perfect limestone and the magnificent view. For everyone else, it's a case of watching the cracks and enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings.

The "Schleier" is south-facing and you can climb on 204 routes all year round on perfect limestone. The upper part of the routes offers breathtaking views of the Kitzbühel Alps.

The route: Number One

Number One is located in the Graue Wand sector and is an aesthetically pleasing route with holes and ledges to delight all climbers. The limestone in the Number One area is one of the best rock areas Tyrol has to offer.

In the lower section, there are two passages that catch the eye: wide moves on large holes. In addition to maximum strength, you also need really good foot technique here. And the end also has it all. A difficult passage with small ledges awaits the already tired forearms.

What does it demand?

Maximum strength, endurance and good foot technique

What do the pros say?

Markus Schwaiger: "Super-compact rock on a striking, slightly overhanging wall. What more could a climber's heart desire?"
