2nd Dolomitenhütte - Another Play in Paradise
What happens when 6 climbing pros sit down at a table to choose the 5 most beautiful lines in Climbers Paradise Tirol? They laughed a lot, talked shop, exchanged fond memories and finally the pros came to an agreement. We present the 5 selected routes in our Great Lines series.
Who chose the Great Lines?
6 top climbers really went all out: Barbara Bacher, Kilian Fischhuber, Michaela Harnisch, Michael Meisl, Markus Schwaiger and Barbara Zangerl have put together a hit list.
In the first part of our series, we visited the Olympiaregion Seefeld and the almost legendary Great Wall of China. Now it's off to the other "end" of Tyrol - to East Tyrol. At the Dolomitenhütte in the Lienz Dolomites, advanced climbers will find maximum climbing enjoyment and also one of 5 "Great Lines".

The Dolomitenhütte is located at 1,600 meters above sea level and can either be reached on foot in around 2.5 hours or comfortably by car on the toll road. Due to the altitude, some of the routes are only dry in late spring. There are 129 routes of difficulty levels 5 to 8 in 5 sectors.

Another Play in Paradise is located in sector A (Paradise) and is a very enduring, beautiful route with technically demanding passages. Once you have mastered the athletic lower section, you will be pleased to have a resting point before the upper section becomes very enduring and technically demanding. The route is perfectly secured and the bolt spacing is not too far apart.
What does it demand?
Athleticism and stamina are required for the route Another Play in Paradise at the Dolomitenhütte. As the wall becomes increasingly exposed towards the top, a head for heights is also essential.
What do the pros say?
Michael Meisl: "The south-facing section of the wall offers an unobstructed view of the imposing Lienz Dolomites.
