Five important tips for climbing via ferratas

You should definitely follow these five tips if you want to go via ferrata climbing:

1. check the weather forecast

You are very exposed and exposed to the weather, especially on a via ferrata. A quick descent is virtually impossible. Thunderstorms with lightning and thunder are particularly dangerous. Therefore, only go when conditions are safe and stable.

2. only with certified via ferrata equipment

Only then can you survive a fall on the via ferrata. The forces involved are usually underestimated. A fall is always dangerous and should be avoided if possible.

3. get trained

You will only be safe if you use your via ferrata equipment correctly. You first have to learn how to use it. We therefore advise inexperienced climbers to take a course with a state-certified mountain and ski guide.

4. do not overtax yourself

There is often only a fine line between challenge and excessive demands. Therefore, start with a short and above all easy via ferrata.

5. partner check

Never be alone on the mountain and check each other's via ferrata equipment before you start.
