Martina Scheichl took part in an excursion that was offered as part of the World Climbing Championships in Innsbruck. She tells you what she experienced:
Today was the last two excursions and I absolutely had to be there again. Not only because it was bouldering, but above all because it was bouldering in Galtür in the Paznaun - Ischgl region in the Silvapark. A highlight bouldering area. It's not just the incredible setting between all the three-thousand-metre and almost-three-thousand-metre peaks, but also the rock here is simply premium. Sure, I'm definitely a little biased, especially as the Silvapark is one of my home areas (if you increase the travel radius), but it's clear that the other excursion participants were also super enthusiastic.

The meeting point in Innsbruck was at 8:30 a.m. and all 13 registered excursion participants turned up. From Galtür, the group was given a gondola ride to the upper part of the area. If you take the gondola up, you can walk down comfortably, but if you don't take the gondola ride - like me - you do it the other way round and walk up - quite strenuous. But it doesn't matter, because today the Silvretta shows its beautiful, adventurous side. The green of summer is slowly giving way to the gold of autumn, everything is bathed in soft hues and the clouds are clinging to the pointed summit of the Ballunspitze.
Bouldering at its finest
Bouldering fun in the Silvapark
The Silvretta is showing its best side to impress the 13 Silvapark newcomers. All in all, a very colorful bunch of Tyroleans, Germans, Brits, Spaniards and Russians scurry around mountain guide Christoph from Galtür today. He is clearly having fun with the group and is shooing them up one slab after another - even bouldering requires you to learn how to stand on your feet. His old school is proving its worth, because at the end of the day, not only are there many slab boulders and steep lines, but even the skin is still halfway intact, as you have to sacrifice it to the sharp rock when climbing in the beautiful surroundings of the Silvapark. The biggest laugh comes when Christoph unpacks his bouldering brushes and starts to clean the chalk off the rock. Because none of the participants had ever seen rocks being cleaned before!
Challenging overhangs when bouldering in the Silvapark
A successful last excursion, according to 13 participants, mountain guide Christoph and myself. Thanks for the great program!
