Whether ski touring, freeriding, ski boot hiking or climbing - it's cold in winter and therefore outdoor activities in the fresh air cost us more energy. There isn't always a hut nearby to stop off at, so the only thing that helps is to have a small energy supply in your pocket. Energy balls are easy to put in your lunch box, are handy to have in your mouth in one bite, taste good and are also made from healthy ingredients. They are therefore ideal for snacking between meals during any outdoor activity.
We show you two recipes for delicious energy balls that are easy to make:
Greta energy balls
Greta energy balls
Ingredients:
250g spelt flakes
1 ripe banana
Some coconut milk
3 tbsp raisins
200g ground almonds
3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp coconut flakes
Preparation:
Dry roast the flakes in a pan. Mash the banana and mix with all the other ingredients - add milk as required. Then shape into balls and roll in coconut flakes.
Energy balls with dates
Date balls
Ingredients:
60g soft rolled oats
1 orange
80g dates without pits
50g ground hazelnuts
2 tbsp honey
4 tbsp chopped hazelnuts
Preparation:
Squeeze the orange and soak the oat flakes in it. Once the liquid has been absorbed by the oats, mix with the dates, ground hazelnuts and honey. Add more ground hazelnuts if required. Then shape into balls and roll in the chopped hazelnuts.
