Climbing gyms on the highway

Whether you're on your way to a skiing vacation or a climbing vacation in the south. How about a short break and a detour to the climbing gyms right next to the highway. The perfect place to really work out or finish off your last training session before your climbing vacation without having to travel far.

Wörgl climbing hall in Kufsteinerland

Let's start in the east of the country, in Kufsteinerland. The Wörgl climbing hall is located right next to the Wörgl West highway exit. Well-equipped with a bouldering area, indoor and outdoor areas, a nice café and bistro in the entrance area and a small rental and store.

Opening hours daily from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm

KI Climbing Center Innsbruck

Further west, our journey takes us through Tyrol, to the climbing region of Innsbruck and its vacation villages, and thus directly to one of the great highlights not only in Tyrol but worldwide. After years of planning, climbing legend Reini Scherer opened the KI Kletterzentrum Innsbruck here in mid-May 2017. Let the facts speak for themselves:

5700 m2 of pure climbing area 17 meter wall height approx. 500 routes and 200 boulders Indoor and outdoor area Own course area weight room seminar room store and café

Nowhere else do top-class sport and popular sport come together so perfectly. A visit to the KI is always worthwhile. Be it to admire the unique building, the towers of the outdoor area can be seen from afar, or to try your hand at the routes and bouldering, the quality of which is now known worldwide and attracts visitors from all over the world. And you can also watch the top stars of the scene training. Jakob Schuber, Anna Stöhr, Katha Saurwein and Jessica Pilz, to name but a few, can be found here almost every day and it's not unusual to have the chance to climb right next to Adam Ondra.

Opening hours daily from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (until 10:00 p.m. at weekends)

Bouldering hall Steinblock

And we have already arrived at our last stop, more precisely in the Imst vacation region. We are at the Imst highway exit and here we can decide.

If we want to go bouldering, then our route leads us directly to the new Steinblock bouldering hall in Imst.

Here we find a very large and impressive outdoor area, an indoor area with very steep overhangs and a bouldering area. There is also a store and a café in the entrance area.

Opening hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 14:00 to 22:00, Wednesday 10:00 to 22:00, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 10:00 to 18:00.
