Climbing festival in PillerseeTal

A climbing weekend with the whole family can demand a lot of organizational talent. The kids want to be kept busy and you want to get to the rock yourself. You should also concentrate on your partner when belaying and not look after the children. That's why climbing with everyone usually only works if friends are on board and the adults take turns with the children's program. At the ROCKdays, the climbing festival in PillerseeTal near the Steinberge, the Kitzbühel mountain guides take over the program and supervision, not only for children climbing at Wiesensee and in Halsergrund, but also for teenagers on the "Adolari" practice via ferrata and in the beginner routes, while the adults make progress in alpine climbing and on multi-pitch tours thanks to the tips and tricks of the pros.

A climbing festival with all the trimmings

The ROCKdays program, which takes place from 14 to 16 June, starts on Friday with a cosy evening for everyone around the campfire in St. Adolari: relax from the working week with chilled music and the film documentary "Free Solo", while the children let off steam in the playground. Saturday starts with yoga at Pillersee. Then the little ones are entrusted to the Kitzbühel mountain guides for children's climbing. The youngsters abseil into the Teufelsklamm gorge with the guides from Fun Connection and the adults use the tips from the pros to improve their technique during alpine climbing or learn the basics at the beginners' workshop.

Peace and action - both are catered for

On Saturday afternoon, everyone gets active at Pillersee. Those who want peace and quiet can go for a ride on the lake on a stand-up paddle board. Those in need of action can try out the ROCKwarrior course. Two climbers of the same age compete against each other on the course, which is modeled on the Ninja Warrior course and consists of wooden elements, ropes and stones. The faster climber moves on to the next round until the best climbers reach the final. Afterwards, the party can begin with the live band "The Black White Gray" at the trout pond.

Participation in the workshops is free for everyone and there are plenty of accommodation options in the Steinberge. It's really exciting in the Portaledge, because it takes a bit of courage to spend the night hanging from the rock face. All those who dare are roped down from the summit of the stone slab and then set up the free-hanging sleeping area with the mountain guides. Dinner is served hanging from the rope and nature provides the sunset and sunrise free of charge.
