Climbers don't have it easy in midsummer. Temperatures rise and the good, cool conditions dwindle with each passing hour of the day. When the sun reaches the wall and makes the sweat flow in streams, the whole body cries out to cool down. Perfect when the cool water is nearby and you can end the climbing day with a "climb and swim". We introduce you to some climbing gardens that have a lake nearby.
Achensee 1st climbing garden Achenseehof
Achensee, the "Sea of the Tyroleans", as it is also known. There are several new climbing gardens around the lake, such as the Achenseehof climbing garden. It is perfect for children and beginners. The approx. 20 routes are all in the 3rd degree of difficulty. The highlight is a 4th degree of difficulty intersection.
2nd Bärenkopf climbing garden
The Bärenkopf climbing garden is also highly recommended: a small climbing garden in Maurach with routes up to the 6th level of difficulty. Very suitable for climbers who prefer a moderate level of difficulty.

The countless climbing gardens high above the lake around the Rofan cable car offer climbing opportunities in abundance.
3rd Grauwand climbing garden
The Grauwand climbing garden in the Rofan mountains offers 37 independent routes on the best limestone rock. These are mostly vertical to slightly overhanging and require some climbing technique. In the up to 30-metre-high, south-facing climbing garden, which was only recently completely renovated, there are routes in difficulty levels 5c to 8a. The Grauwand was one of the first climbing gardens in the Rofan.
4th climbing garden Grubastiege
The beautiful, 15-metre-high wall of the Grubastiege climbing garden is located right next to the path to the Rofanspitze. The rock is littered with water grooves and sharp beer-handle holds and offers 10 routes of fairly moderate difficulty. Thanks to the convenient gondola ride down, you can quickly reach the cool water.
Kufsteinerland
The Kufsteinerland region around the beautiful town of Kufstein is considered the gateway to the Tyrolean Alps. Away from the Wilder Kaiser, there are some interesting sport climbing opportunities for midsummer with cooling off in the idyllic bathing lake.
5. climbing garden Morsbach
For example, the Morsbach climbing garden, which is one of the oldest climbing gardens in Tyrol. The difficult tours are of historical significance. But the somewhat easier tours are also highly recommended. After climbing, the Pfrillsee is a great place to cool off.
