One is the exertion. Pushing your personal limits a little, the sweat that collects under the rim of your helmet, the muscles that you really feel the next day. Sure, that's why we go on a via ferrata, it makes you realize again what it means to live. But the other thing is the reward, in the spirit of "first the work, then the pleasure". And what better reward after all that exertion than a rustic dumpling tris with Kaiserschmarrn on top? We present 4 iron trails where you can find both: Exhaustion and reward! 1st "Henne via ferrata" (B/C), Steinberge

Hard to beat for views: If you're on the Henne - a very well-designed via ferrata, by the way - your gaze constantly wanders back and forth between the Wilder Kaiser, Kitzbühel Alps, Loferer Steinberge and Hohe Tauern. For experienced hikers, there is also a sporty C/D variant to satisfy your hunger. On the marked descent, you pass the Wildseeloderhaus - it doesn't get more idyllic than this!

2nd "Lachenspitze North Face" (C/D), Tannheimer Tal

An imposing line through an imposing wall: here you need to bring enough stamina and the right biceps! If you are up to the Lachenspitze, you will find an absolute dream tour with great panoramic views of three lakes. And of course the same applies here: The stronger you are, the more calories your strained muscles will need afterwards.
The descent from the Lachenspitze takes a good three quarters of an hour via the normal route on the south side, and a well-earned refreshment awaits you at the rustic Landsberger Hütte not far from the start. Enjoy your meal!

3rd "Klamml via ferrata" (C/D), Wilder Kaiser
Here you really are faced with a dilemma: should you stop for refreshments before the via ferrata or only afterwards? The Via Ferrata Klamml lies exactly between the Gaudeamushütte and the Gruttenhütte on the Wilder Kaiser. Of course, you could also proceed strategically as follows: Approach - you're already well over an hour on the way - a little refreshment at the "Gaudihütte" - on to the via ferrata - complete exhaustion - hearty meal at the Gruttenhütte - descent to the starting point at the Wochenbrunner Alm - coffee and cake. Sounds like a good plan? Let's go!

4th "Tajakante" (E), Tiroler Zugspitz Arena

This via ferrata really has everything to make you hungry: great length, great difficulty, great panorama. Continuously along the edge, the Tajakante is certainly one of the most impressive things you can do with a via ferrata set in Tyrol. The descent is also quite alpine again, good surefootedness required! But the Coburger Hütte next to the Drachensee lake is all the more beautiful, and you're guaranteed to be ravenously hungry here at the latest!
