10 spectacular via ferratas, part 1

We present 10 via ferratas in two series that have earned the accolade "spectacular" in very different ways. We believe that spectacular does not always have to mean "difficult". Spectacular can be many things: exciting passages on the ascent, the wonderful view at the summit or the culinary specialties of the nearby huts.

1st via ferrata Buchau (C/D) - Achensee vacation region

The short, scenically unique Buchau via ferrata leads along the Dalfaz waterfall. At the end, it is best to stop off at the Dalfaz Alm and indulge in some culinary delights.

2nd Innsbruck via ferrata (C/D + C to the Grotte exit) - Innsbruck and its vacation villages

The "approach" alone is spectacular: the Hungerburgbahn and Nordkettenbahn cable cars take you high above the city to the Hafelekar mountain station. From the mountain station, you can reach the Innsbruck via ferrata in approx. 10 minutes.

3rd Kaiser-Max via ferrata (E) - Innsbruck and its vacation villages

The Kaiser-Max via ferrata is an absolutely recommendable highlight for professionals. Thanks to its south-facing location, it is accessible almost all year round.

4th Anton Renk via ferrata Fendls (D/E) - Nauders - Tyrolean Oberland - Kaunertal vacation region

The Anton Renk via ferrata is a via ferrata for specialists! You climb up next to a waterfall - the via ferrata is mostly in the shade, even on hot summer days, thanks to its northerly orientation.

5th Dopamin via ferrata (C/D/E) - East Tyrol vacation region

The entrance to the Galitzenklamm gorge leads quickly to the start. Halfway up the Dopamin, you can decide whether you dare to tackle the extreme variant (difficulty E). Otherwise, stay on the normal route and enjoy the "Götterquergang" - a rope bridge with a fantastic view of the Galitzenbach waterfalls.
